Question: Since the Secretary-General has asked Madame Amos to go to Syria, how is that going to work? Does she have a date to go there? Does she have to seek permission from the Syrian Government? Deputy Spokesperson: Well, obviously Ms. Amos will have to work out a programme and she will have to decide on when she goes, how she goes, the Syrian Government we expect that the its a humanitarian mission; we expect the Syrian Government will respond positively. I mean, the Secretary-General had some very good meetings with Foreign Minister Lavrov last week, in which he impressed on the Russian Foreign Minister the need to open up the country to humanitarian assistance. The Russians have come out and said that the humanitarian assistance is necessary. We believe this is the position of the international community. The General Assembly spoke last week on this issue also, and we would expect that the international communitys concerns would be satisfied.
